See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ. (Colossians 2:8)
Wise Father,
As these children grow older, and particularly as the enter college and beyond, they will encounter skeptics. They may come in the form of classmates, or perhaps in the form of teachers and professors. They will sound very wise and very intelligent. They will have clever arguments and will be able to argue their positions adeptly.
Through parent, teachers and your infused wisdom, prepare these children for these attacks on their faith. By that preparation, create in them a resilient faith that can accept unanswered questions. A faith that fully believes in you, your Son and his resurrection as basic truth, but a faith that can deal with challenge and ambiguity. And give them a willingness to seek the wise counsel of mature fellow believers who can help them sort through the challenges that have been made against their faith. And always give them a powerful sense of the reality of your presence and the power of your Spirit within them that will not let them abandon their fundamental trust in you.
Amen
