For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. (Colossians 1:13, 14)
Redeeming Father,
Give these children a sense of darkness, a perception of its reality and its presence. Let them see that the forces of evil exist and are bent on destroying them. Show them the truth of their own sin and rebellion, whether that rebellion be obvious and public, or whether it is less obvious and more private. Let them understand that such sin and rebellion put them in the clutches of darkness.
May they then fully understand and rejoice in their deliverance out of the dominion of darkness to the Kingdom of Light, the Kingdom of your Son, a deliverance bought with His blood as He gave his life for them. May their hearts rest in the knowledge of their redemption and forgiveness.
Amen
